Blossoming Lavender Farm Debuts Organic Products At California Gift Show

MENDOCINO COUNTY, California (January 9, 2012) – Harvest Moon Farms Lavender is ready for the big time. After over a decade in business, and six years since planting their twelve acre Lavender Valley with over 35,000 lavender plants, the field has grown into full maturity and the farm is ready to expand their business by exhibiting at the California Gift Show in Los Angeles, CA from January 20 – 23, 2012 in the South Hall, Booth 1920.

One of the world’s earliest medicines, Lavender has been used to treat a multitude of ailments including headaches, anxiety, dementia-related agitation in the elderly, bee stings, healing of scars and aiding in relaxation and preparing the body for restful sleep. In this new year of 2012, it seems that we could all benefit from more lavender in our lives. From soldiers coming home from war to economical stresses, Harvest Moon Farms wishes to aid in the healing of wounded hearts around the world.

At the heart of the business is their pure, unadulterated, hand-harvested and slowly steam distilled lavender essential oils available in Lavandula Angustafolia “Royal Velvet”, Lavandin “Grosso” and their robust Angustafolia blend. The co-product in the distilling process is the lavender hydrosol, or flower water, which can be used for cooking, as a linen or facial spray (lavender is a wonderful astringent), or as a base to natural cleaning products. All of these products have been certified organic by CCOF since 2008.

K.C. Chamberlain, co-owner of the farm along with her farmer/distiller partner Martha Betz, is trained as an herbalist with Western and Chinese Herbs, and has been busy over the past several years creating a line of home and body care products formulated with all natural healing herbs and oils, with an emphasis on our beloved lavender.
